John Ashton and his helpdesk team manage one of the busiest departments in any major retail operation: facilities, i.e. the frontlines stores in the high street, shopping centres etc.
Reactive maintenance is a key requirement in the day-to-day running of a busy customer-focused environment. HMV required a service with a ‘local’ touch, so the decision was taken to regionalise the maintenance support.
UK Response was successful in the initial stages to become an approved contractor, and was placed on a probationary contract, covering 27 stores from Wigan in the west to Hull in the east with a team of dedicated engineers.
